He was predeceased by: his wife Carol A. Smith (Malonson); and his parents, Sherman C. Smith and Doris Murray (Roberts). He is survived by: his sons, David Smith (Patricia) of Gloucester, Michael Smith (Lynda) of Ipswich and Jeremy Smith (Moira) of Gloucester; and his grandchildren, Randy Roberts (Crystal) of Gloucester, Courtney Rose (Kyle) of Gloucester, Wesley (Cassidy Smith), Owen, Miles and Ruby Smith of Gloucester. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A Master of Social Distancing before it was a thing, a lone refrigerated truck could often be found in the outfield of games, carefully parked to avoid interruptions.
