Genevieve F. Randazza Obituary
Genevieve F. (Medeiros) Randazza, 98, of Gloucester wife of the late Thomas "Pee Wee" Randazza passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gloucester, MA on May 9, 1924, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Viator) Medeiros.
Genevieve attended schools in Gloucester. Growing up in Gloucester, she knew everyone. She was such a social butterfly always going out of her way to say "Hi" and was also a great storyteller. She worked as a caregiver locally and in her younger years worked as a fishpacker.
She always had a great time going to the casinos. She enjoyed ceramics, traveling all over, especially to Brazil and China, and loved taking walks with her dog, Mikey. She was a member of the St. Peter's Guild.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Genevieve is survived by her son, Thomas P. Scola and his wife Kathy; stepson, John Randazza; sister, Jacqueline Medeiros and her partner Janet Keefe;7 grandchildren, Jennifer Sanfilippo and her husband James, Thomas Scola Jr. and his wife Sarah, Lisa Wall and her husband Jon, Nick Novello and his wife Chrissy, Mike Novello and his wife Laura, Matthew Novello and his wife Rachel, Thomas Randazza and his wife Shannon; 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins including special nieces, Sharon Elliott and her husband Frank, Karen Ryan, Kelly Arsenian and her husband Dr. Michael Arsenian; special friends, Sue and Steve Cannon, Jackie Randazza, Bunny Rowe, Kevin and Marie Clayton.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Novello; stepson, John Randazza; sister, Ruth Ryan and brother, Manuel Medeiros.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Friday, July 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. All attendees are required to wear facing coverings during the Mass. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester, MA.
