It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene E. Geary (Gloucester, Massachusetts), who passed away on January 4, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irene E. Geary to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her granddaughter Nicole Geary-Phelan; and her siblings, Daniel Carroll, Mary Arruda, Ethel Ragusa and Dorothy Souza.
She is survived by: her husband Robert D. Geary; her children, Donna Smith (Stephen) of Ipswich, Fayemarie McGrath (Timothy) of Raleigh, NC, Cynthia Geary (Rich Souza) of Gloucester, Robert Geary Jr. and Dana Geary (Kristine, Timothy Geary); her grandchildren, Stacy Smith, Stephen McGrath, Cody Geary, Christine Chermak, Conor Geary, Martine Geary-Souza, Brendan Geary, Robert Geary III and Alexis Geary; her great grandchildren, Caleb Geary and Ryker McGrath; and her sister June St. She is also survived by friends as "Our Lady Queen of the yard sales." Irene had a life-long love of animals and an affinity for taking in stray cats.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Cape Ann Animal Aid in Gloucester in celebration of her love of saving homeless animals.
