He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Sutera and Frances Sutera (Gilardi); and his siblings, Lillian Sutera, Anna Newman, Bridgette Acciavatti (Betty) and Joseph Sutera (Sonny).

He is survived by: his grandchild Lenny; his wife Jean C. Sutera of Gloucester; his children, Lorie Sanfilippo (Gus) of Gloucester, Jennifer Costanzo (Jack) of Gloucester and Patrolman Peter Sutera (Caterina) of Gloucester; his grandchildren, Lily Jean (Anthony Sanfilippo), Salvatore (Jack Costanzo), Zariah and Alexander (Ophelia Sutera); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Sutera (Judy) of Gloucester, James Acciavatti of Beverly and Dana Blatchford (Paula) of Gloucester. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
