Maria F. Goulart Obituary

Maria F. (Cardoso) Goulart, 73, of Gloucester, wife of the late Manuel D. Goulart Sr., passed away at her home, with her family at her side, on Friday evening, June 9, 2023. Maria was born in Pico, Azores on December 30, 1949, and was the daughter of the late Leonel L. and Maria L. (Moniz) Cardoso.

Maria and Manuel married in 1977 and shortly thereafter moved to Gloucester for a better life. She worked for Gorton's of Gloucester for over 37 years and retired from there as well. She worked very hard, and she was very proud to be naturalized and become an American citizen. She enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching. Maria was very involved with the D.E.S. and Our Lady of Good Voyage Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Carlos Goulart of Gloucester and Manny Goulart and his wife Noel Goulart of No. Andover, MA and her two cherished granddaughters, Lenna and Lucy of No. Andover, MA.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her in-laws.

Her visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 8-9:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her Mass will follow and be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Prospect St. in Gloucester at 10 a.m. Her burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
