With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria P. Tavares of Gloucester, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 12, 2021 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Jose Tavares; her parents, Antonio Pereira and Leopoldina Pereira (Sousa); and her sister Germana Rebelo. She is survived by : her children, Neli Machado (Victor), Aurelia Avila (Jose), Maria Gibbs (Ronnie), Jose Tavares (Connie) and Eddy Tavares. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
