He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine Haskell Sponagle (Kitty) of Essex, Mass.; his parents, Robert Melvin Sponagle Sr. of Gloucester, Mass. and Barbara Elizabeth Sponagle (Dench) of Gloucester, Mass.; and his brother Dana Sponagle (Andrea Sponagle) of Gloucester, MA.. He is survived by: his daughter Dori Elswick (Josh Elswick) of Waxahachie, Texas.; his nieces, Amanda Sponagle-Haskell (Jenelle Haskell) of Gloucester, MA, Melinda Sponagle of Gloucester, MA and Melissa Sponagle of Gloucester, MA.; and also, Tracy, Moss Burke of Hampton, NH, James, Katrina Haskell of Gloucester, MA and Mark Haskell of Essex, MA..
