Steaphen G. Dickinson Obituary
Steaphen Gale Dickinson, 74, of Gloucester, MA passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 17, 2022 with the kind support of the Kaplan House in Danvers, MA. Steve was born in Boston, MA in June of 1947 to Ruth C. and Edgar G. Dickinson of Charlemont, MA, where he lived his entire childhood, and served with the United States Air Force in North Africa and Sacramento CA from 1967-1973. It was in California that he met and fell instantly in love with Christine Hall, and made the best decision of his life, marrying her eight weeks after they met. After leaving the USAF, Steve completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees at Bryant University while working full time in IT and raising his daughter Stephanie with Christine. He retired in June of 2014 from a lifetime of work in the IT industry.
Steaphen was an avid Scottish fiddle player, bowler, stamp collector, and golfer, and loved his time as a member of the Bass Rocks Golf Club, Cape Ann Sportsman's Club, and Waltham Stamp Club. Above all however, Steve was passionate about his family and lived as though there was no greater honor, privelege, and joy than to love, cherish, provide for, and serve them. His guidance, humor, humbleness, and love will be deeply missed. Steve is survived by his wife and soulmate of 52 years Christine, his daughter Stephanie, sisters Carol Nims and Alice Kane, grandchildren Maia, Siena, and Haylen Caddle, beloved in-laws Cheryl Viera and Bruce and Christine Hall, and fourteen nieces and nephews, all of whom have held their own special place in his heart.
He will be buried Monday, January 24th in a private ceremony at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation. Arrangements by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
