He was predeceased by: his parent Chester Smethurst; his former wife Grace Noel Smethurst (Kennedy); and his brother Chester Smethurst (Jean). He is survived by: his parent Evelyn Smethurst (Hubner); his children, Darah Langa (Mauricio) of Franklin, Thenderia Smethurst of Maynard and William H. Smethurst Jr.; his significant other Denise Jodice of Fitchburg; his grandchildren, Danielle Langa, Grace Langa, Courtney Smethurst-James, Justin Richard and Nicole LaRose; his great grandchild Kyleena Richard; and his siblings, Cheryl Pratt (David) of Colorado, Joyce Pollock (John) of Canada and John Smethurst (Karen) of Marshfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
