She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward T. McCarthy, Jr. and Patricia Ann Russo (Cairns); and her siblings, Stephen McCarthy and Doris McCarthy. She is survived by: her daughter Alicia Michaud of Weymouth; her granddaughter Ava McCarthy of Georgia; and her siblings, David McCarthy (Donna), Patrick McCarthy (Susan) of Rockland, Brenda Rozzi (Anthony) of Haverhill and Bruce McCarthy of Maine. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's memory to American cancer society.
