He was predeceased by : his father Donald T. Kirby, Sr.; his grandsons, Jose and Corey; and his sister Pamela Kirby. He is survived by : his wife Elaine Kirby (Evans); his children, Donald Kirby III (Amanda Murnane) of Sutton, Denise Thomas of Worcester, Tanya Kirby of Bellingham and Shelly Kirby of Utah; his stepsons, Scott Channing (Joanne) of Uxbridge and Steven Channing (Erin) of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Keefe, Michael, Jay, Zoe, DJ, Terrell, Tre, Trinity, Anna, Jacqui, Katie, Alex, Ericka and Madison. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
