He is survived by: his wife Maria Silva (Picanco); his siblings, Antonio Bettencourt Silva, Maria DeConceicao of Graciosa and Matilde Correia (Lazarus) of Graciosa; his father-in-law Manuel Tomas (Maria) of Lowell; his godchildren, Gina Ryan (Anthony), David Tomas (Patty Cullinane) of Lowell, Ana Rita Correia of Graciosa, Carlos Antonio Silva of Graciosa, Rui Silva of Graciosa and Groton; and also, Isabella Ryan and Anthony Ryan Jr.. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
