He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank E. Mello, Jr. and Mildred R. Mello (Joyce); his brother Donald Mello; and his friends, Dennis Dunleavy, Paul Champagne, Maureen Champagne, Susan and Guy Michacyzk.
He is survived by: his children, Joya Trelegan (Greg) of Chelmsford and Forrest Mello of Lowell; his grandchildren, Logan Champagne of Chelmsford and Charlotte Trelegan of Chelmsford; his siblings, David Mello and Jeanne Gardner (Tom); his nieces and nephews, David Mello Jr., Kerry Mello, Deborah Mello and Donnie Mello Jr.; and his friends, Daniel of Lowell, Donna of Lowell, Tim Champagne of Lowell, Phillip of Lowell, Estelle Chaput of Lowell, Jimmy Dunleavy of Arizona and Mike Champagne.
