He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maggie; his son Robert Cowburn; his fiancée Alayna Zottola; his granddaughter Rebel Cowburn; his children, Christine Dressman (Robert) and Zachery Cowburn; and his parents, Ellen Cowburn (Godfrey) and Robert Cowburn. He was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to Dr. John McDyer's research group at the University of Pittsburgh, for medical research to advance the science, diagnosis and treatments for telomere-mediated diseases.
