It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alphonse Pires of Ludlow, Massachusetts, born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, who passed away on December 29, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ovidio and Maria; his wife Beatrice Pires; and his siblings, Joseph Pires (Doris) and Mary Lawrence (Tony).
He is survived by: his children, Larry Pires (Barbara) of Chester, Anthony Pires (Eva) of Belchertown, Mark Pires (Marie) of Chester and Beatrice Roberts (David) of Ludlow; his sisters, Emma Grimes of Ludlow, MA and Gloria Galis of Florida; and his grandchildren, Melissa Bourdeau (Jason), Tony Pires, Jr. (Wendy), Tammy Bruneau (Justin), Christina Shephard (Adam), Denise Dilley (Mitch), Mark Pires II (Katie) and Ryan Roberts. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Masks, social distancing and all state gathering and capacity restrictions will be adhered to.
