He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Chaves and Barbara Chaves; and his brother Americo "Max" Chaves. He is survived by: his wife Carol Chaves (Dargis); his children, John F. Chaves, Jr. (Doreen), David Chaves and April Chaves; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Kristine), Benjamin, Hilarie (Donovan), Abigail, David, Daniel and Landon; and his brothers, Dulce Nowak, Laurinda Dakers and Manuel Chaves Jr.. He is also survived by many loving extended family members and dear friends.
