He was predeceased by : his wives, Dorothy E. Mckernan and Abigail C. Collins; his son Daniel J. Fennell; and his stepson Gary Mckernan. He is survived by : his children, William P. Fennell (Carol) of Pepperell, MA. and Mary G. Wallace of Tucson, AZ; and his sister Eleanor Desmond of Woburn, MA.. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Goodrich Funeral Home (128 Washington St, Lynn, MA 01902). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
