It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Louis Phelan of Marblehead, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 10, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, Charles W. Phelan, Edmund (Marguerite) and Tom; his brother-in-law Yoshitaka Morikawa of Japan; and his parents, Charles and Marguerite.
He is survived by: his spouse Takami M. Phelan; his son Charles; his sister Marguerite Phelan (Bourneuf); his friends, Richard "Woody" Woodbury and Robert "Bob" Roche; his children, Marguerite "Mugsie" Bailey (Jim) of Marblehead, Charlie Phelan (Jennifer) of Elizabethton, TN, Rich Phelan (Linda) of Duxbury, Michael Phelan (Robert Deininger) of Marblehead and Melissa Phelan (Al Meier) of Merrimack, NH; his grandchildren, Kelley Bailey (Dan Stockhaus), Abbey Bailey, Patrick, Clayton, Shelayne, Renee, Richie, Hana Phelan and Zachary Phelan-Waters; and his cousin Dr. Takekazu Ohi (Ryuko) of Kyoto City. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
