With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Evelyn M. Lovett of Melrose, Massachusetts, born in Revere, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Nicholson and Agnes Nicholson (Duffy); her husband George F. Lovett of Melrose; and her great-grandparents, Evie of Jackson, Savannah (Gabriel) and Hadley.
She is survived by: her children-in-law, Bill and Wendy; her caregiver Teddy; her children, Mary Hardway (Richard) of Merrimac, Anne Clark (William Jr) of Melrose, George W. Lovett (Wendy) of Melrose, Robert Lovett (late Michelle) of Belmont, NH and Mark Lovett of Beverly; her grandchildren, Matthew, Glen, Keith, Paige, Albert, Eric, Emma, Brandon, Samantha, William III and Scott; her siblings, Gloria Hobson (David), Joseph Nicholson (late Margaret) and David Nicholson (late Mary); Dianne Aceto.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church (1155 Main St, Wakefield, MA 01880). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Wyoming Cemetery (205 Sylvan St, Melrose, MA 02176).
