He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. McCarthy Jr. and Marie W. McCarthy (Davis); his significant other Rachel McCarthy (Palmer); and his brother-in-law Rick Palmer (Ann). He is survived by: his son Shamus Palmer McCarthy; his siblings, Joyce M. Kehoe of Melrose and Daniel McCarthy of Medford; his siblings' child Tracey Viselli (Michael) of Wakefield; his sons, Max, Michael and Luke; his close friend Don Belmonte of Melrose; and his siblings-in-law, Jeff, Karen Palmer of Manchester, Douglas Palmer of Wilmington and Christine Taylor (Bruce) of Cheshire, CT.
