He was predeceased by: his wife Jane E. (Tiernan) of Everett, MA; his parents, Martin McDonough and Margaret McDonough; and his siblings, Bridie Thomas, Mary Molloy, Patrick McDonough and Martin McDonough.
He is survived by: his children, Martin McDonough (John Burnais) of New York City, Michael, Rhonda McDonough of Andover, John, Linda McDonough of Winchester, Patrick, Patricia McDonough of Stoneham, Matthew McDonough of Everett, Anna Marie McDonough, Liam Curran of Dorchester, Barbara Flynn, Margaret Nee and Sarah McDonough; his siblings-in-law, Maura McDonough, Lorette Tiernan, Anne Tiernan, Barbara Tiernan, Patrick Connolly and John Galgon; and his grandchildren, Michael McDonough, Margaret McDonough, Carla McDonough, Erin McDonough, Luke McDonough, Sarah McDonough and John McDonough. He is also survived by cousins, nephews and nieces.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the wake and funeral will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
