He was predeceased by: his son Martin Auty; and his siblings, Alfred Auty, Florence Goodridge, Mildred Kennelly, Regina Smith, Eddie Auty, Eleanor Auty and Vera Metcalf.

He is survived by: his wife Mary J. Auty (Whitney); his children, William Auty (Susan) of Mendon, Alan Auty of Wooksocket, RI and Linda Auty (Robert Luzi) of Brewser; and his sister Helen Salvia of Mendon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
