She was predeceased by: her spouse Mieczyslaw Szapiel; and her child Roman Szapiel. She is survived by: her child Valdemar Welz (Ella) of Milton; her grandchildren, Veronika, Maximilian, Antonina, Kyle, Kahli and Alyssa; her sibling's children, Thomas Nowicki of Duxbury and Lila Lizotte (James) of Lakeville; and her daughter-in-law Rhonda.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Polish Cultural Foundation 15 Marshall Rd Milton, MA 02186.
