It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vartan Mekalian of Nahant, Massachusetts, born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, who passed away on October 11, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his spouse Jean L. Mekalian (Henderson); his parents, Arshag Mekalian and Markroohie Mekalian (Chorebanian); and his siblings, Sart Khanbegian, Cora Yagjian and Varse Sheehan.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Mekalian of Saugus, Margaret Mekalian of Lynn and Susan Mekalian of Lynn; his grandchildren, Anthony and Damon; and his niece Lisa Sheehan.
Adhering to the state regulations and CDC guidelines, face coverings and proper social distancing practices will be required.
