He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Williams Pierce; his daughter Sarah Thomas (Jason); his granddaughters, Delia and Finley Thomas; his siblings, Nancy Pierce and David Williams; his sister-in-law Thomas Williams; and also, Carolynne, Meredith, Emily, Alison, Rachel, Amy Dillingham and Mary Ives.
