He was predeceased by: his brother Roy Gurkin. He is survived by: his wife Ethel E. Gurkin (Hansen); his children, Susan M. Gurkin of Needham, Katy Gurkin of Framingham, Joanne Gurkin Butler (Thomas Butler) of Natick, Jeanne Burke (Robert Burke) of Millis and John F. Gurkin Jr. of Needham; his grandchildren, John Gurkin (Alicen), Elizabeth Gurkin, Allison Burke and Samuel Butler; and his sister Patricia Marsters of Plymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
