He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Barber and Margaret Barber (Gordon); his wife Mary Catherine Hillmer; his children, Elizabeth Helen and William Walter Barber; his uncles, Warren Barber, David Barber, Glenn Barber and William Gordon; his sister Shelley Barber; and his siblings-in-law, Terry Waite (Steve) and Neil Hillmer (Joan).
