He was predeceased by : his brother Daniel A. Duarte; and his aunts and uncles, George Duarte, Benjamin Duarte, Louis Duarte, Frank Duarte, Adeline Andrade, Laura Gonsalves Joanna Cosme and Julia Cosme.

He is survived by : his children, Deejay Mathaeo Labayan (Jonah Labayan Arvelo) of Las Vegas and Kim Evora (James) of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Darnell, Lailah, Naseem, Ameen and Anuhea; and his aunts and uncles, John Duarte of New Bedford, Manuel F. Duarte, Jr. of New Bedford, Antone Duarte of New Bedford, Rose Pinto of New Bedford, Kathleen Almeida of New Bedford, Irene Duarte of New Bedford, Marie Gracia of New Bedford, Patricia Barboza of New Bedford, Dorothy Andrade of New Bedford, Evelyn Metivier of New Bedford and Louise DeBarros of Springfield.
