It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Do Carmo Evangelista of New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 21, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Antonio Soares Aleixo and Conceição Aleixo (Lopes); her child Vitor Evangelista; and her siblings, Antonio Aleixo, Teresa Aleixo and Santos.

She is survived by : her husband João Evangelista; her son John L. Evangelista of Fairhaven; her brother Amandio Aleixo of Lisbon; her grandchildren, David Evangelista, Jay Lee Evangelista, Paul Evangelista, Michelle Evangelista, Michael Evangelista and Kristofort Evangelista; and her great grandchild Kingston Evangelista.
