She was predeceased by : her husband Manuel Barbosa; her father Antonio Medeiros Martins; and her siblings, Jose Martins and Merces Melo of Canada. She is survived by : her children, Luis Barbosa (Particia) of New Bedford, Francisco Barbosa (Zelia Jardin) of Fairhaven, Carlos Barbosa (Kelly Spring) of Omaha, Nebraska, Osvalda Pontes (Eugenio) of New Bedford, Maria (Antonio) of Lurdes Silva, Teresa Sousa (Luis) of New Bedford and Merces Botelho (Arnaldo) of New Bedford; and her sister Teresa Silva of São Miguel, Açores.
