It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ramona M. Bettencourt of New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 5, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Joseph D. Bettencourt; her parents, Joseph Sylvia and Rose Demarais (Metevier); her daughter Cynthia Bettencourt; her grandson Cole Vary; and her brother Joseph Sylvia, Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Michael J. Bettencourt (Michelle), Lisa Amaral of New Bedford, Laurie A. Bettencourt of Dartmouth and Kathleen Lemieux (Gerard) of Dartmouth; her brother Raymond Sylvia of Fairhaven; her grandchildren, Kayla Bettencourt, Kristi Vary, Meghan Cesar, Jakob Vary, Emilia Noriega and Michael Lemieux; her great grandchildren, Joseph Bettencourt, Everly Connolly and Evelyn Cesar; and her close friends, Brian Amaral and Laurie E. Bettencourt. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
