He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Filomena Martins (Pimental). He is survived by: his children, Octavio Martins (Fernanda) of Florida, David Martins (Tina) of New Bedford, Madalena Camelo (John) of Dartmouth, Filomena Macedo of Dartmouth and Susana Furtado (Nelson) of Florida; his daughter-in-law Madalena Couto; his sister Graciela Teixeira of Taunton; his grandchildren, Victor, Kelly, Sandy, Joey, Priscilla, Erica, David, Dr. Nathan, Nasha, Felicity and Riley; his great grandchildren, Nyla, Kiah, Madison, Mia, Mason, Matteo, Shawn, Victoria, Emma, Aniah, Amelia, Noelle, Elias, Nora and Elio; and his son José Manuel Martins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM at the Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home & Cremation (129 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (230 Bonney St, New Bedford, MA 02744).
