Babe", of West Newton, MA, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, peacefully in her home, at 102 years-old. Adelaide was born June 8, 1915 in Watertown, MA, where she spent her childhood. In 1942, she married the love of her life, John R. Ford of Watertown, MA, and together, raised three children. For many years, Adelaide worked as a switchboard operator for both, the New England Telephone Company and WGBH TV, Boston. She enjoyed a full life of travel, swimming at the YMCA, ballroom dancing, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her son, Kevin Ford; daughter, Karen (Ford) Bricker, and her husband, Bob Bricker; granddaughter, Caitlin (Bricker) Shapiro, and her husband, Zachary Shapiro; grandson, Jonathan Bricker; and by many family members and friends. She is predeceased by her husband, John Ford; son, Richard Ford; brother John Milmore; and sister, Lillian (Milmore) Aherne. A wake will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Eaton Funeral Home in Needham, followed by a funeral mass at St. Bernard Parish in Newton.
