He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mahan and Helen Mahan (Shanley). He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Maggie" (McGrath); his sons, Michael Mahan and Daniel Mahan (Cheri); his grandchildren, Shane and Brody; and his sister Sheila Niland of Norwood. He is also survived by brother and sisters in law, as well as many nieces and nephews.
