He was predeceased by: his wife Judith F. Elgart (Ellis); his parents, Oscar Elgart and Edna Elgart (Klask); his sister Eleanor Gilfix; and his siblings-in-law, Harold Gorin and Marion Sherman (Ellis).
He is survived by: his children, Donna Elgart Medoff (David) of Newton and James Elgart (Gisele) of Newton; his grandchildren, Jacob, Robin Medoff, Sophie and Isabelle Elgart; his close friend Nancy Korman (Fisher); his brothers, Vincent Elgart and Richard Elgart; and his sister-in-law Sylvia (Ellis). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
