He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Dr. Amanda Sims; his sons, Joshua Sims Speyer and Jacob Sims Speyer; his parents, June Speyer and Marcel John Speyer; his siblings, John, Glenda Speyer, Susan and Boud Vossen; his siblings' children, Richard, Samantha Speyer, Steven, Carly Speyer, David Vossen and Nina Vossen; his parents-in-law, Lilian and Dr. Farrol Sims; Sloane Speyer and Dorrit Senior.
