She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Edward S. Kaplan; her parents, Naomi Small (Newman) and Melvin Small; her sons, Adam (Colleen) and Matthew Kaplan (Julia); her grandchildren, Jordan, Andrew and Harriet; and her siblings, Jane Devecis (John), Debra Small, Howard Small (Diane) and Joseph Small (Judy). She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
