She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Salvatore Battiato and Mary Raitano; her husband Santo Messina; her children, Joseph Messina (Ellen), Salvatore Messina (Laurie), Tina Messina, Mary Messina, Anne Messina and Laura Elias (Claude) of Newburyport; her grandchildren, Michael Messina, Christine Messina of San Francisco, David Messina, Joseph Messina Jr. of North Andover, Zachary Elias and Sami Elias of Newburyport; and her sister Rose (late George Bistany). She was also cherished by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends which she considered her extended family.
