He was predeceased by: his wife Joan M. (Amirault); his son Richard "Ricky" Whitaker; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his children, Ernest "Ron" Whitaker (Daria) of Milton, Carol Downey (James) of Rockland, Dolores Johnson (Steven) of Foxboro and Joanne Colassi (George) of Norton; and his siblings, Edgar, Lawrence, Elizabeth Neal and Dorothy Ferolito. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
