He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank S. Smith and Helen M. Smith (Pfriemer); and his niece Beth McVeigh. He is survived by: his siblings, Francis Smith and Margaret Starr Volpe (John) of Quincy; his nephews, Edward McVeigh (Darlene) of Hanson, MA, Michael Smith of Missouri City, TX and James Starr of Rockland; his niece Jacqueline Russell of Baker, LA; and his friend Adelaida Paul.
