He was predeceased by: his wife Joan G. Spillane (Green); and his sibling Thomas J. Spillane S. J.. He is survived by: his children, Kathryn J. O'Mara (Edward) of Plymouth, John F. Spillane Jr. (Mary) of Norwell, Joanmarie Spillane (Jody) of Quincy, Michael J. Spillane of Quincy and Julieann Cirafice (William) of Hanover; his brother James C. Spillane; his grandchildren, Kaitlin E. O'Mara of Plymouth, Lauren A. Tucci (Eric) of Duxbury, Edward G. O'Mara Jr. (Kelsey) of Plymouth, MaryKate J. Cook (Adam) of Hinesburg, VT, Caroline E. Spillane of Bend, OR, John F. Spillane III of Newport, RI and Arianna K. Cirafice of Hanover; and his great grandchildren, Peter E. Tucci, Edward G. O'Mara III (Trey), Andrew T. Tucci, Theresa (Reese), Rory O'Mara and Clark Cook. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
