He was predeceased by: his brother James; and his parents, Alice (Janell) and William J. O'Connell, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Connell (Ward); his children, William F. O'Connell of Quincy, Edward P. O'Connell of Somerville, Brian M. O'Connell (Kate) of West Roxbury and Kelli Gates (Brian) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Ryan Palmer, Kyle Gates, Collin Gates and Maeve O'Connell; and his siblings, Rita Broadbent, Edward O'Connell, Patricia and Carol.
