He was predeceased by: his parents, John Whalen and Mary Whalen (Martin). He is survived by: his wife Ann Whalen (Tantillo); his children, Diane Ray (Rodney) of Brandon, FL and Michael Whalen (Robyn) of Whitman; his grandchildren, Michael, Mathew, Erika, Kevin and Megan; and his siblings, James Whalen, Mary Fernald of Braintree, Thomas Whalen of Braintree and Jean Campbell of Braintree. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Should friends desire in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in John's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
