He was predeceased by: his sister Barbara Pariseau. He is survived by: his wife Mary J. (Rogers); his children, Christine Joyce (Joseph) of Medford, Mary Beth Evers (Danny) of Chapel Hill, Karen Bonacorso (Anthony) of Newbury, Joseph L. Rooney, III (Michelle) of Georgetown and Christopher Rooney (Julia) of Newbury; his siblings, Katherine Flammia of Malden, Richard Rooney of Davenport, Larry Rooney of Lynn, Robert "Bobby" Rooney of Lowell, Thomas, Donald and James Rooney; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Julia, Ivy, Jessica Evers, Mia, Morgan Joyce, Sophia, Olivia, Nicole, Anthony Bonacorso, Cameron and Christian Rooney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with the Covid-19 Pandemic procedures put in place by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the CDC and Malden Board of Health, those visiting are required to wear facial coverings, practice social distancing and due to occupancy restrictions are to enter the Funeral Home, pay their respects and exit to allow addition guests to enter.
