He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maria Catalano (Musto); his children, Mario J. Catalano (Mary K. Catalano) of Sandwich and Diana A. Orthman (Dennis P. Orthman) of West Roxbury; his grandchildren, Robert Orthman, Jennifer McCullough, Kristen Orthman, Mark Catalano, Janice Piscatelli, John Catalano and Paul Catalano; and his great grandchildren, Jack Orthman, Cora McCullough, Emilia Piscatelli and Michael McCullough.
