She was predeceased by: her husband Manuel "John" Sousa; her parents, Charles P. Poitras and Dora Poitras (Harris); and her siblings, Carol, Claire, Robert and Charles "Bill" Poitras. She is also survived by grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
