He was predeceased by: his parent Malcolm G. Caldwell; and his siblings, Jean Hampson, Robert "Bruce" Caldwell, Douglas Caldwell and Richard Caldwell.

He is survived by: his parent Bertha Caldwell (Lorimer); his children, Malcolm G. "Trip" Caldwell, III (Beth) of Woodbury, CT, Cynthia Caldwell of Westford and Amy O'Leary (James) of Windham, NH; and his brother Thomas Caldwell (Sharon) of Lexington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
