It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Mellen (Shirley, Massachusetts), born in Westfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on June 12, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Shirley Mellen (Hardy); his daughter Bonnie Dryden; his grandchildren, Taylor, Spencer Dryden, Bryanna and Michael Mellen; his daughter-in-law Michelle Methe of Uxbridge; his son Michael; his brother Raymond; his parents, Guy Mellen and Beatrice Mellen (Hollister); and also Scott of Hopkinton.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Richard, the family requests donations to be made to Samaritans in memory of their son, Michael, to support suicide prevention work in Massachusetts.
