He is survived by: his children, Everett E. Thornton, Jr. (Kathleen), Douglas J. Thornton of Hanson, MA, Colin G. Thornton (Karen Miranda) of Dighton, MA, Barbara A. Remy (Thomas) of Swansea and Louann E. Cordeiro (Kenneth) of Somerset; his sister Elinor Buckley of Fall River; his grandchildren, Aaron T. Remy, Shannon J. Remy, Ryan M. Cordeiro, Colin J. Cordeiro, Evan E. Thornton, Cassandra M. Thornton and Alec E. Miranda; his great grandchildren, Travis E. Remy, Savannah V. Goss and Jameson J. Cordeiro; and his siblings, Albert E. Thornton Jr. and Frances Hoover. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
