He was predeceased by: his brother P. William Gesner; his wife Joan E. Walton; his former wife Phyllis Gesner (Snell); and his brothers, Edward, Thomas and Richard.
He is survived by: his sister Lucy D. Hicks Gesner; his children, David E. Gesner (Janice) of The Villages, FL, Cynthia Jean Gesner of Dighton, MA and Jane E. Labouliere (Ted) of Dighton, MA.; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt Simpson), Michael Gesner, Lori Beth Gesner, Hunter Dufrane (Alexandra), Amy Kenck (Cooper), Andrew Labouliere and Lauren Labouliere; and his close friend Theresa Wilkinson.
